Mexico City awaits you!
Leave your bags safe in Mexico City and make the most of your trip 😎
The capital of the country is one of the favorite destinations of thousands of tourists. Its cosmopolitan character, cultural, gastronomic and entertainment offer make it a megalopolis like few others. Although its greatness is visible not only in its history, but also in its extension, touring Mexico City by metro , on foot or even by bike, it is possible!
Beneath what we know today as Mexico City are the remains of what was the Great Tenochtitlán. Some of them can be seen when visiting the Templo Mayor Archaeological Zone, a few steps from the Cathedral. Metropolitan and within the Historic Center.
If you are passionate about history, you can delight yourself by touring its impressive Historic Center, with almost fifteen hundred buildings of interest. Art and culture also breathe in its museums, which present impressive pre-Hispanic collections.
Also, don't forget that you are in a true gourmet paradise. The restaurants and street stalls of the city are the best places to explore flavors and aromas that you never imagined could exist: Tacos, quesadillas and tamales, hot sauces, preparations with cocoa and the famous pulque... everything is a party of flavors! And don't forget the tequila and mezcal.
During the day, the outdoor activities of the fabulous Bosque de Chapultepec, hundreds of stores where you can shop and also large shopping centers complete the range of activities.
But Mexico City also lives at night and you can find nightlife in places like Zona Rosa, Condesa and Polanco.

Unmissable places of Mexico City
The places you really can't miss on your visit 🚶🏼♂️🚶🏼♀️
- Zócalo Capitalino y Centro Histórico: the Plaza de la Constitución (known as the Zócalo) is the most important square in the city (and the second largest square in the world 😲).
The square is flanked by the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, some vestiges of the Aztec Empire, the Government Building, the Old Town Hall, among others. - Bosque de Chapultepec: This beloved forest not only concentrates green spaces for recreation, lakes, museums and a zoo, but it is also home to the only castle in all of America: El Chapultepec Castle. Located on the top of Cerro del Chapulín, it once housed Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg and his wife, Empress Carlota.
Leaving the Forest you will find three unmissable museums:
Museum of Modern Art: exhibits collections that include works by Frida Kahlo, Remedios Varo and José Luis Cuevas, among other plastic artists, as well as photographs by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Tina Modotti and Manuel Álvarez Bravo.
National Museum of Anthropology: contains a vast collection that ranges from the first settlements in America to the cultures of northern Mexico.
Museo Tamayo: brings together great works of contemporary art, including many by the artist himself. There you will also see some pieces by Francis Bacon, Picasso and Wilfredo Lam. - Paseo de la Reforma: It was also known as the “Paseo de la empress”, because it was built under the order of Maximilian for his wife, inspired by the Champs Elysées in Paris.
It exhibits two of the most iconic monuments of the capital, the Diana the Huntress and the Angel of Independence. The latter is also a mausoleum that protects the remains of heroes and independence heroines. You can also go up to its viewpoint, which is reached through 200 steps and admire an incredible view of the city.
In Reforma, life seems to go on forever. Here you will find excellent restaurants, you will be able to take good photographs and if you walk through it at night, you will see the monuments illuminated in different shades, from the Estela de Luz to El Caballito de Sebastián. - Coyoacán: one of the main attractions of the neighborhood is the Frida Kahlo Museum, known as "The Blue House", there you can not only visit the home of the painter, but you will get to know part of her wardrobe, almost unknown works and those that have traveled around the world. The ashes of the artist also rest in the place in an urn that treasures her room. Don't miss out on the charm of this magical and memorable place.
The former residence of the Russian politician León Trotsky, is another of the museums that you cannot miss. The collection houses posters, documents and the furniture as it was used while he lived there.
If you are a film lover, you cannot go through Coyoacán without visiting the Cineteca Nacional. In the complex dedicated to exhibiting the highlights of international filmography, you will have the opportunity to enjoy films that you could only see during film festivals. There is a cafeteria in the placeace, bars, bookstores and even an outdoor screen where they project free special functions that you can see from the comfort of your garden. - Roma y Condesa: During the day you can explore its parks and squares or have breakfast in one of its cafeterias. Its gastronomic offer presents proposals from traditional Mexican cuisine, to Mediterranean, Colombian, Asian, and many others. The best thing is that the cooks and owners are almost always from that region. It's like having a little piece of the world directly on your palate and without leaving the city.Nightlife in La Condesa is also varied and for all tastes. From lovers of Cuban music, to those passionate about the electronic scene, with countless bars and pubs to enjoy.
- Basilica of Guadalupe: is one of the most visited religious centers in the world and the most important temple for Mexicans.
It is an emblematic tourist attraction of Mexico City, which you will undoubtedly enjoy, since there are many things to discover:
The Expiatory Temple to Christ the King, also called the Old Basilica of Guadalupe, which housed the original image of the Virgin.
The parish church of Las Capuchinas, built in 1729.
You can also visit the Capilla del Cerrito on the Cerro del Tepeyac, which has a panoramic view of the area.
The Tepeyac Cemetery, where the remains of different characters in the history of Mexico are found.
And the Basilica Museum where you will find a large collection of Novohispanic art that includes paintings, sculptures, historical items and more. - Polanco: is today an important commercial district with many of the most exclusive boutiques in the city, especially on its main street, Avenida Presidente Masaryk, Polanco's undisputed commercial corridor. In turn, Emilio Castelar street has become the epicenter of restaurants and nightlife. On weekends, Lincoln Park is the favorite place for family outings.
- Monument to the Revolution: is a mausoleum to the heroes of the 1910 Revolution, including Pancho Villa. And it houses the Museum of the Revolution. A glass elevator will take you to a viewing platform with a panoramic view. There is interactive entertainment especially for children, cafe and gift shop.
- Other Museums: CDMX is home to the largest number of museums, only below London.
Colegio de San Ildefonso: an old Jesuit college, dating back to the 18th century, it is an important example of early mural art, especially by Orozco.
Museo Mural Diego Rivera: The site was built especially to house the famous mural by Mexican Diego Rivera "Dream of a Sunday afternoon in the Alameda."
José Luis Cuevas: In a 16th century convent you will be able to appreciate paintings that are more than 200 centuries old, both by Latin American artists and by the master himself.
Franz Mayer Museum: splendid collection of applied art in a beautifully restored 18th-century building, with a charming courtyard and café. - Autonomous University of Mexico: Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since June 2007, the campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico has murals created by some of the greatest artists of Mexico. It is possible to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC), as well as the Universum Science Museum and the Sala Nezahualcóyotl, the first concert hall of its kind in North America and ranked as one of the best in the world.
