Buenos Aires awaits you!
Leave your bags safe in Buenos Aires and make the most of your trip 😎
Major productions and small intimate performances; long days to explore neighbourhoods in the open-air and even longer nights to enjoy the city that really never sleeps; places to enjoy with friends, and spaces to make new friends; theatres that host classical music and stadiums that are home to the world’s most intense sporting events.
No matter whether you come alone, as a couple or with friends: whether you love historic architecture or buzz off the latest trends; whether you love doing sport yourself, or want to cheer from the stands, the city offers many reasons to visit, and always another reason to come back.
Gastronomy: Buenos Aires is an incredible city for eating out, offering a mix of traditional local cuisine and food from all over the region and the world. The star of Porteño cuisine is of course the beef, offered in huge servings at the city's legendary parrillas, or steakhouses. But there are also the Bohemian historic cafes, famous pizzerias with cult followings on Avenida Corrientes, and sophisticated cocktail bars. This is now all joined by open-air food halls such as Patio de los Lecheros, craft beer bars, regular food festivals, and restaurants offering flavours from different corners of the glob, including a ever-increasing range of vegan and vegetarian specialists.
Art, culture and shows: Art is a major Porteño passion that’s expressed in many forms throughout the city. The Buenos Aires International Festival brings some of the most exciting theatre in the region to the city's venues, and to the streets themselves, and throughout February the city streets come alive to the sound of carnival as 100 carnival troupes present their music and dance in parades in the different neighbourhoods.
One tip for theatre fans: all year round, from Tuesday to Saturday tickets for selected theatres are offered at a 50% discount from the Tickets BA box office at the intersection of Corrientes and Cerrito.
What’s new: We all love taking pictures of ourselves on our travels, and so the city has taken steps to ensure visitors can get the best shots, erecting steps facing the iconic obelisk and at the newly inaugurated Paseo del Bajo park, so that you can get the perfect angle for a fantastic photo souvenir.
As a family: Buenos Aires can be enjoyed on any type of visit, whether it’s alone, as a couple or with friends, and if you visit the city as a family, you’ll find plenty of options for every age, from the reinaugurated high-tech Planetarium to kids’ events at Teatro Colón and numerous museums and open-air activities.
